What thickness of core rubber and cover rubber is required for nylon canvas conveyor belts?
Since the core rubber and cover rubber play such an important role, what should construction personnel pay attention to when selecting them? As we all know, the purpose of the joint is to make the conveyor belt into a loop so that it can be put into use. The core and cover rubbers must ensure that the conveyor belt remains a single unit after startup, preventing any signs of separation or detachment.

To meet the above requirements, construction personnel must select appropriate core and surface rubber before operation. High-quality core and surface rubber must have an appropriate thickness. If it is too thick, due to the centripetal force of the drum after startup, it is prone to peeling and falling off, and it can easily be scraped and peeled off by the sweeper. If it is too thin, it will not achieve the jointing effect. So, when jointing, how many millimeters of core and surface rubber are needed for nylon canvas rubber conveyor belts?
When various industrial and mining enterprises perform jointing on nylon canvas rubber conveyor belts, they typically choose core rubber thicknesses of 0.8mm and 1mm, with the accompanying surface rubber thickness mostly being 3mm. This combination yields good results and is easy to operate. After bonding, it effectively ensures the integrity of the entire conveyor belt, and the belt body remains flat. After operation, the belt body experiences uniform stress, which significantly guarantees the service life of the conveyor belt.
Generally speaking, when selecting core rubber and surface rubber for conveyor belt joints, a principle should be followed: the closer the vulcanized rubber compound is to the original belt, the better. Currently, CVUL core rubber and surface rubber are most commonly used. CVUL core rubber and surface rubber are synthetic neoprene, which is not only suitable for nylon canvas rubber conveyor belts, but also for steel cord conveyor belt joint treatment.
